Each Learning Zone in the ALC provides one or two wireless displays for the sharing of digital content from laptops and mobile devices. Use the tips below for Laptop, iOS, Android, and Chromebook to ensure your device is ready.
![]() Windows and Mac laptops provide the most robust wireless sharing options of any device. There are a couple of methods available for sharing digital content from your laptop depending upon whether PC or MAC. Decide which will be best for you. If uncertain, ask your facilitator which option would be most helpful for today's session.
If you would prefer to use a laptop but did not bring your own, ask your facilitator if a LHRIC laptop is available for today's session.
![]() Use AirPlay (swipe up from bottom-middle of screen to access the Control Center panel) to mirror your device to one of the ALC AppleTV receivers (ALC 1 or ALC 2). In addition, you may also download and install the MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink iOS app on your device. This app will enable you to share documents, photos, your video camera or a website to any monitor in the ALC.
![]() Use Google's Home app to mirror you Andoird phone/tablet screen to one of the ALC Chromecast receivers (ALC Chromecast 1 or ALC Chromecast 2). See how to cast your Android screen from the Google Home app. In addition, you may also download and install the Android MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink app on your device. This app will enable you to share documents and photos from your device, as well as share your screen to any monitor in the ALC's learning zones. Your facilitator will help you learn how to use the app during today's session when needed.
![]() After logging in to the Chromebook with your Google Account, you may cast from your desktop or from the Chrome browser. NOTE: if your school's Google Apps domain restricts the ability to install Chrome Extensions you will need to contact your school's Google Apps domain administrator. |
