Let's"Get Active"

are you ready to get active?

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your time at the LHRIC Active Learning Center. Have a great time and here’s your ‘active learning’ checklist for today!

5 TIPS TO "GET ACTIVE"

  • LOCATE YOUR NEAREST SHARING SPACES

  • GET READY FOR DIGITAL SHARING

  • BE PREPARED TO MOVE

  • CHALLENGE & FAIL - IT'S THE BEST LEARNING

  • LIVE IT! LOVE IT! OWN IT!

LOCATE YOUR NEAREST SHARING SPACES

Monitors and dry erase wall spaces are conveniently located in each learning zone.

Locate the monitor nearest you. There are 6 total so no matter where you sit or stand you won't miss a thing. Remember, the closest monitor may be right behind you!

Don't feel like you have to stare at your facilitator the whole time. ALC facilitators don't mind if you watch the monitor instead of looking at them. They're not terribly vain folks.

Also, grab a marker, get up and draw on the wall! Go ahead, share your ideas and make a mess. We don't mind. We'll clean up after you.

GET READY FOR DIGITAL SHARING

Check that your devices are ready to share and you've located any materials needed for your session. Use the QR Codes you find in the room or visit ‪http://alc.lhric.org/TalMX.

Make sure your notebook or device is in its "upright and ready" position.

BE PREPARED TO MOVE

For your safety and satisfaction, remember to SWIVEL n' ROLL. (No crane necks needed here!)

Get closer, pair up, huddle as a group, or split apart. When you feel inspired, just "move it, move it, move it!"

CHALLENGE & FAIL - IT'S THE BEST LEARNING

Be prepared to struggle and conquer challenges today. You can do it! Let go of your inhibitions and don’t be able to fail with pride, purpose and glee. It can be fun, trust us! You'll be amazed at the new insights and learning you'll achieve.

LIVE IT! LOVE IT! OWN IT!

And, lastly, we invite to “Be the Change that You Wish to See in the World!” As an educator, if you can commit to being ‘engaged’ and ‘active’ in YOUR own learning experiences, you’ll be amazed at how ‘awesome’ you’ll be when you plan and design active learning for your students.
