If you're attending a workshop at the ALC, your workshop facilitator may have information & materials available for you in the ALC TalMX Notebook.
Review these 5 TIPS and be ready to "Get Active" when visiting the LHRIC ALC.
First Visit to the ALC? Get ready for digital sharing!
Each Learning Zone in the ALC provides one or two wireless displays for the sharing of digital content from laptops and mobile devices.
Use the tips below for Laptop, iOS, Android, and Chromebook to ensure your device is ready.
Using a Laptop?
Windows and Mac laptops provide the most robust wireless sharing options of any device. There are a couple of methods available for sharing digital content from your laptop depending upon whether PC or MAC. Decide which will be best for you. If uncertain, ask your facilitator which option would be most helpful for today's session.
If you would prefer to use a laptop but did not bring your own, ask your facilitator if a LHRIC laptop is available for today's session.
Via Web browser, no prep needed.
(PC & MAC) Use any Web browser for a temporary connection to one display at a time as needed. This option does not support video sharing.
Open any Web browser on your laptop.
Enter the IP address for the monitor receiver you wish to connect to. (e.g. 10.18.87.247 is the IP address for the "Studio Left" monitor.)
Click on the appropriate button for your type of laptop (Windows or Mac).
After downloading and starting the Extron application, enter your name and the security CODE for the monitor you are connecting to (e.g. code for the Studio Left monitor = 3671). To display your device on the monitor, click the PLAY button.

Using an iOS Device?
Use AirPlay to mirror your device to one of the ALC AppleTV receivers (ALC 1 or ALC 2).
In addition, you may also download and install the MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink iOS app on your device. This app will enable you to share documents, photos, your video camera or a website to any monitor in the ALC.
Using a Chromebook?
After logging in to the Chromebook with your Google Account, you may cast from your desktop or from the Chrome browser. NOTE: if your school's Google Apps domain restricts the ability to install Chrome Extensions you will need to contact your school's Google Apps domain administrator.
Using an Android Phone/Tablet?
Use Google's Home app to mirror you Andoird phone/tablet screen to one of the ALC Chromecast receivers (ALC Chromecast 1 or ALC Chromecast 2). See how to cast your Android screen from the Google Home app. In addition, you may also download and install the Android MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink app on your device.
